Church from Scratch member and newly published author, Angela Lucas, has written a book inspiring us to seek exciting and purposeful experiences in our later years.
On her 82nd birthday, Angela was challenged to walk the ancient Camino de Santiago way in the Spanish Mountains. A physically demanding pilgrimage, it saw her overcome a hundred kilometre trek in the midday heat. From the experience and the fellow pilgrims she met, grew ‘How to be a SuperAger’ – a book that addresses how to approach life as you reach your 50s and beyond.
We are proud of Angela
Angela Lucas is a long-term member of Church from Scratch and leads a home-based church group in Basildon. Initially, Angela joined us on a training placement where she was a part of the Kursaal Estate community group. From here she went on to start her own group where she lives in Basildon.
The Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and the book that resulted from it is just one of the ways that Angela seeks to keep her faith alive. The rest of us at CFS are inspired and proud to have her as part of the community and look forward to the future challenges we can tackle together.
