Here's a picture of some of the team from the church on a weekend makeover for the homeless centre in Westcliff on Sea.
40 of the church, friends and service users teamed up at the homeless centre in Valkyrie Road, Westcliff for the weekend. With this being the 4th major project we've done there built on a relationship with them strectching back several years.
It's not just that we helped them... In doing it we joined in with Jesus and met him. This was an act of corporate worship helping to convert us to Jesus as much as helping others. And the rain stayed away!
What did we do? Put up fences to make a smoking area; painted a lounge; replanted the front garden; lots of outside painting; cleared some waste land; built benches; rebuilt and painted their front wall.
And we ate 70 bacon rolls in the process - yes someone counted!
Thanks to Jewsons who partnered with us in donating free materials.
