 Following months of preparation the Shared Space project opened on 2 October with a launch event as CFS celebrated 8 years.
The picture shows 50 balloons released at the launch event, carrying our prayers for the future.
Shared Space has a number of parts to it, and all are about working with Southend and being good news there. The keyword is working with Southend not for Southend. Already the growing band of volunteers include those from beyond the church and this is growing. Could you be one of those volunteers who join the project? We are particularly keen to work with peole who are longterm unemployed or under 25 years and we welcome all.
What happens? There is a large charity shop with the profits ploughed back into Southend. Lets make this clear - we are not runnin gthis to make money for the church. As the secodn phase is developed there will be social space, coffee, a variety of groups and activities. And Shared Space is not just about projects on the premises, we will be buildig volunteer teams to do good work around the town.
