Jo is going on a training course run by 24-7 prayer called Transit from September 2009.
What is 24-7 Prayer?
The 24-7 Prayer movement is a global, non-stop prayer meeting that began in 1999. It has spread into more than ninety countries and led to mission and justice initiatives around the globe. 24-7 Prayer is committed to turning prayer into practical action. www.24-7prayer.com
What is Transit?
A 10 month residential program built around the values of prayer, mission, justice and mercy, hospitality, creativity, and learning within a community. Transit takes such people and trains them to live well and thus to lead well'. Weekly patterns of service and study are interspersed with trips to the annual 24-7 International Leader's Gathering, retreats, weeks of 24-7 prayer, as well as other opportunities to visit other communities that will come up during the 10 months.
Jo will be living in Stanford Le Hope, Essex...
with 5 students on the course. The course is split up into 3 terms, so I will be able to visit friends and family during those times! During my time in Stanford, I will be working with the boiler room (prayer room), working in the community through Bar ‘n' Bus, mission work and doing more and more praying!
Throughout the past few year...
I have had a great growing passion for community work, prayer, Church, unity, being a real disciple and mission. I am sad to be leaving Southend already, I won't be too far away and will visit during the holidays! Thank you for your love and encouragement and community with each other which started off some of these passions God had put in my heart.
I would really value your prayers...
so that I am willing to let God use me to reach others, teach me and change me. Lastly...If you wish to be added onto the newsletter I will be sending out regularly by email of updates on what I will be doing, please email me ‘NEWSLETTER PLEASE!' and your name
