We camped at Forge Wood in Sussex for several years and want to share it. A camping weekend is planned for 8 of the church and 8 from the homeless centre in Southend.
A great opportunity to build on our existing relationship and give some people a great holiday. If you don’t know about Forge Wood...
It is in 300 acres of private wood with a log cabin, a log fire for our communal cooking, a peaceful place. There is space in the log cabin where four can sleep and most sleep in individual tents which the church owns. There’s no electricity, this is not a campsite, great fun, rough and ready wood camping. Forge Wood is 3 miles East of Heathfield in East Sussex, We will use a minibus and plan to travel together. Leaving Friday afternoon and arriving home Sunday afternoon.
What do I need to bring? Warm clothing & waterproofs and a torch - no street lights here! Tent, sleeping bag and lilo can be borrowed from the church. Cutlery, plates etc are already at the cabin.
How much? £10 unwaged, student, etc and £20 employed. The cost covers everything including food. You won’t need other money as we are miles from the shops. This will be a weekend without alcohol.
What do I do now? If you are from Church from Scratch let Peter know if you would like to be considered for the team. 07812 117180 or

We expect this trip to be over-subscribed. 30th June deadline to apply. We will let you know during July if you’re going to Forge Wood. We need a team of men and women who are committed, with a heart for people. We want to give our friends a great weekend away.
